Setting Your Preferences

You can specify or change the preferences for your entry. The preferences that display on this screen are the preferences that you first entered when you logged into the system. A user can override these preferences that have been defined by the Customer Administrator.

 

When this screen displays, it is populated with data that you defined the first time that you used the system or as you have updated the screen with new information. Any changes to this screen are displayed when you re-display the screen.

 

  1. Click on the My Account tab. The Manage Users screen on the My Company tab displays.

  2. Click the Preferences link. The Preferences screen displays on the My Account tab. Remember the screen is populated with preference data that you have previously defined.



    Note:
    All required fields have an asterisk (*) beside the field name.

    Note:
    The Folder Location displays with the default folder location. Currently the Estimate Type is only for Construction.

  3. To change the data type, select the Unit or Assembly radio button.

  4. To change the measuring system, select the English or Metric radio button.

    Note:
    Your selections from the Data Type and Measuring System selection determine your selections for the Cost Book drop-down list.
     

  5. To change the Cost Book, select the Cost Book from the Cost Book drop-down list.

    Note:
    Your selection from the Cost Book selection determine your selections for the Labor Type drop-down list.
     

  6. To change the labor type, select the labor type from the Labor Type drop-down list.

  7. To change the Masterformat™, select the 2010 or 1995 radio button.

  8. To change the data release, select the data release date from the Data Release drop-down list.

  9. To change the localization for an estimate, select National Average from the Localization drop-down list to base your estimate on the national average. Select Localized State/Region from the Localization drop-down list to base your estimate on local averages. If you select Localized, the Country, State/Region, and City drop-down lists display for your selection. If you select Localized, make your selections to these drop-down lists.

  10. To change general contractor's markup on subs percentage, enter the new percentage for the general contractor's markup on subs in the General Contractor's Markup on Subs box. The value for this field is an integer from 0-100.

  11. To change general conditions estimate default markup percentage, enter the new percentage for the general markup conditions in the General Conditions box. The value for this field is an integer from 0-100.

  12. To change the general contractor's overhead & profit percentage, enter the new percentage for the general contractor's overhead & profit in the General Contractor's Overhead & Profit box. The value for this field is an integer from 0-100.

  13. Click on Save. You new preferences display on the Preferences screen and populate your Estimates screen.
